Frequency Electronics Announces Additional Government Satellite Contracts
MITCHEL FIELD, N.Y., Jan. 10, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Frequency Electronics Inc. (Nasdaq:FEIM) has been awarded follow-on contracts to provide timing and microwave frequency sources for the next two satellites of the Wideband Global SatCom ("WGS") satellite program. The WGS program provides secure communications for the U.S. military, NATO and other U.S. allies. The new contracts are for the eighth and ninth satellites of a multi-satellite constellation. The Company previously provided hardware for the first six satellites and is currently under contract for the seventh. The new contracts call for timing and microwave frequency sources previously developed by Frequency which are currently deployed and operating successfully in orbit. The fully-funded aggregate value of these two contracts is expected to be approximately $10 million.
